AFC Leopards former Secretary General Asava Kadima has ranked his former employers alongside KCB, Mara Sugar, Kariobangi Sharks, and Mathare United as KPL title favourites this season.

According to Asava, it’s still early to predict who will finish at the top of the league, but everyone who is in the top four, including the twelve-time champions Leopards, has the credentials to nail it.

“To win the title this season is still early to predict, but any of the top four can win it, including my team,  AFC Leopards," said Kadima.

KCB sit at the top with 21 points after 10 matches, five points ahead of second-placed Mara, who have a game in hand, while Sharks and Mathare come third and fourth on 14.

However, Asava has voiced that the real picture of who is more likely to outshine the rest will be painted in March.

In the meantime, any of the four teams, including AFC Leopards, can lift the gong only if Ingwe can be able to work on the small mistakes on the pitch in their matches ahead," Kadima added.

“So on matters, who will or who may win the league this season should be easy to discuss when we get to March.

Defending Champions Gor Mahia, who have played four matches less, are in position 14, 13 points behind the leaders

KCB have managed to win six matches, two draws, and only one loss in the 10 they have played so far, hence finding themselves on the driving seat.

But for Leopards, it has been a hot and cold affair of three wins, two draws, and three losses, which fired up fans' anger to demand improvement, failure to which head coach Tomas Trucha should face the sack.

Gor started the season with international assignments of CAF Champions League preliminary matches and is playing catch up.

However, their poor form of two wins, two draws, and two losses also led to the sacking of head coach Leonardo Neiva, with the record holders (21 league titles) now under a caretaker team of assistant coaches Zedekiah Otieno and Nick Yakhama as the search for a new coach intensifies.
