ICT CS Owalo awards Gor Mahia KSh3 Million for winning KPL title, promises new bus
Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and the Digital
Economy Eliud Owalo on Monday awarded Gor Mahia KSh 3 million for winning the
2022/2023 Kenyan Premier League title.
Speaking at a city hotel when he hosted the champions to a
luncheon, the CS challenged the club to
work hard and have a clear focus of doing well in the CAF Champions League as
well as challenging the club’s leadership to put in place structures to enable
the team realize the much needed growth.
Out of the Ksh 3 million awarded, KSh1 million went to the
playing unit, a similar amount to the management, 500,000 to the technical
bench, 200, 000 to the team’s drivers and a further 300,000 to the team’s
security team.
K’Ogalo dispatched Nairobi City Stars 4-1 in the final day of the campaign to pip Tusker to the title as they claimed a record 20th league crown.
He also promised the club a new state-of-the-art bus at the beginning of the new season.
