Ian Simiyu chuffed after joining Tusker, talks up ambitions

Newly
signed Tusker FC midfielder Ian Simiyu has expressed his excitement after
sealing a move from the National Super League side Nzoia Sugar FC to the FKF
Premier League giants.
The
talented ace, who had been a key figure for Nzoia, signed a two-year contract
with the Brewers on Monday, marking a significant milestone in his career as he
starts new life with the Ruaraka-based giants.
Speaking
to Citizen Digital, Simiyu says he’s
eager and wants to make the most of his opportunity at his new club, after
leaving the NSL as a top scorer with 13 goals. The midfielder further shared
his ambitions of playing abroad, stating that his move to Tusker is a crucial
step towards achieving that dream.
"I'm
very happy to join Tusker. It's a big club with a strong winning mentality, and
I believe this is the right place for me to grow as a player," Simiyu
said. "I will work even harder to ensure I contribute to the team’s
success and hopefully earn a chance to play internationally."
Simiyu
also took a moment to appreciate the support he received from Nzoia FC fans
during his five-year stay at Sudi stadium.
Having been a core member of the team, he
built strong bonds with the supporters and teammates, making his departure
bittersweet.
"I
want to sincerely thank the Nzoia FC fans for always standing by me. Their
unwavering support meant a lot, and I will forever be grateful for the moments
we shared," he added.
His
move comes at a time when the Brewers are reinforcing their squad in a bid to
challenge for the FKF Premier League title. Tusker are neck and neck with
Police FC in the title race at the summit of the league standings.
