Homeboyz to unveil new coach this week with Francis Baraza odds-on favourite to take charge
Kakamega Homeboyz FC management has intensified the search
for a new head coach following the dismissal of Coach Ken Kenyatta.
The club's chairman Cleophas Shimanyula has indicated that
the club has already identified a new head coach who will be joining them in
the next few days, but fell short of naming the new tactician.
"We will be announcing Ken Kenyatta's replacement who
will take over before the end of the week, already we have identified an
experienced coach and it's just a matter of time before we unveil him," he
said.
Former Kenya Police and Dodoma Jiji Coach Francis Barasa is
likely to take over from Kenyatta.
Speculations about Barasa heading to Kakamega have been
reported on different online sports platforms.
Kenyatta was fired due to a string of poor performances in
theKenya Premier League after just five matches that he has been in charge.
Shimanyula at the same time alleged that Coach Kenyatta did not
bond well with the players.
"It’s true we have parted ways with Kenyatta because the
Club has not been performing according to our expectations, also his
relationship with some players was not good," said Shimanyula.
Kenyatta joined Kakamega Homeboyz early this season guiding
the team in five league matches before he was shown the door.
Homeboyz who have not won any match this season are
currently in position 18 on the KPL table with only two points, drawing two
times and losing three.
