KCB will be out to extend their rich vein of form that has seen the eight times winners lead the log on 20 points, level with reigning champions Kabras Sugar but they have a superior point difference.

The Oliver Mang’eni- coached side made light work of Mwamba with a 88-02 win last weekend and they will be keen to guard their unbeaten run against winless Nakuru RFC, who will be hoping to redeem themselves after losing 34-15 in their derby against Menengai Oilers.

At the temple of rugby, the RFUEA, two other unbeaten sides go head to head with hosts Kenya Harlequins hosting nemesis Nondies.

Nondies head coach Callum Oliver says they will be hoping to continue their perfect start to the season although Quins present their toughest test yet.

“They’re absolutely a tough task, they are very solid. We know each other well in terms of personnel and coaches and it’s going to be an exciting occasion and we have to perform. I hope we will play with the same intensity and belief as we did in our game against Blak Blad last weekend.”

Oliver added that his charges have worked their socks off since being relegated two years ago and that they are determined to maintain their run despite staring at a tough run of fixtures involving Impala, Menengai Oilers and KCB.

“It’s been a project for the past three years. We got relegated, bounced back and then we go again this year. We just take it one day at a time and see how we improve our performance on a daily or weekly basis.

“We don’t usually tend to focus on our opposition so much. We just try and play our game; put our game out in the field and the things we’ve been working on and have faith that they will come off. The guys have worked extremely hard over the last few years and now things are working out at the moment but we still have a long way to go.”

Elsewhere, defending champions Kabras Sugar will be back in home ground at ASK showground Kakamega to battle Mwamba RFC as their ‘siblings’ Menengai Oilers take on KU Blak Blad.

South Coast Pirates, who are yet to win a match after promotion to the Kenya Cup, will be hunting for their maiden win at their backyard at Seacrest where they host Strathmore Leos.

Impala complete the weekend schedule by playing Kisumu RFC who claimed their first win of the season last weekend, at home against South Coast Pirates.
