Kenya international defender Brian Onyango is on the
move again in the search for a new club yet again following the expiration of
his spell at the South African club.
Onyango joined the club at the beginning of the
2024-25 season and only managed eight appearances across all competitions,
helping the club reach the MTN8 final and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
During his time in the Cape Winelands the towering
defender also returned to the national side for the first time in nearly two
years and became the third non-South African player to represent his country
whilst being a player for Stellenbosch.
Despite the brevity of his stay at the club, his
influential figure earned him a nomination for the 2024-25 SFC Sportsman of the
Season Award.
Everyone at Stellenbosch would like to thank Brian
for his service to the club and wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter
of his career,” the club said in their official statement.
The former Posta Rangers and Tusker FC player will now
look for a club that will offer him game time as he looks to retain his spot in
the national team.
