The national team moved up from position 108 to 102 following a 2-1 win over Namibia and a goalless draw against Zimbabwe in Group J qualifiers played earlier this month.

Kenya gained 11 points to increase their points build-up from 1,197 to 1,208 points.

The Engin Firat coached side opened Group J matches with a 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe on September 6 before defeating Namibia 2-1 four days later to get their qualifying campaign back on track.

Stars jointly lead Group J with Cameroon on four points but have a superior goal difference and next play the five-time African champions on October 7 with a reverse fixture scheduled for October 15.

Kenya’s next opponent Cameroon dropped two places from position 51 to 53 following a mixed performance in September.

Cameroon claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Namibia in their first Group J match before they were held to a goalless draw by Zimbabwe.

Morocco are the highest-ranked African nation in position 14 with world champions Argentina staying atop of the standing with 1889.02 points, and France 1851.92 points.

Spain are in third place with 1836.42 points, followed by England (4th), Brazil (5th), and Belgium (6th).

Reigning African champions Ivory Coast moved five places up from position 38 to 33 globally and fourth in Africa, with former champions Senegal losing two places from position 19 to 21.

A total of 184 international matches were played in September as FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, 2025 AFCON qualifiers and friendlies were contested everywhere around the world.
