Shabana FC Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama has promised football fans that there will be no security gaps in Sunday's match against Gor Mahia at the Gusii Stadium.
Kerama says they are fully aware of what to expect from the fans of the two clubs, in the highly publicised clash.
"Let the fans be assured that all is well we have put in
proper arrangements to ensure everything will be smooth on the big day. We want
the game to be entertaining and safety has to come first," said Kerama.
Kerama revealed they
have a clear strategy to avoid crowd troubles at the gates.
"Gates will be opened by 8:00am and closed at 12:00pm to all fans and the teams to settle well ahead of the 2:00pm kick off," added Kerama.
Shabana are fourth on the league standings, and the Secretary General believes the best is yet to come.
"All our stakeholders have been amazing - the players,
technical bench the fans. We want them to keep up that spirit going forward for
the great future of the club.”
A win for Shabana
will see them inch closer to the top three bracket, as only four points
separate them with Gor ahead of the clash.
Gor, after 28 rounds,
are third on the log with 50 points, just one shy of second-placed Tusker FC
and only two behind leaders Police FC.
On Thursday, Gor
coach Sinisa Mihic revealed his main focus was on the Shabana match, the reason
behind the changes he made in his starting lineup against Kariobangi Sharks in
the FKF Cup.
Gor went on to win
the match 2-0, advancing to the semifinals thus keeping hopes of a domestic double.
