GSU dominate Kisiwa in thrilling encounter

Nyayo National Stadium Outdoor Arena was the scene of a high-intensity handball clash as GSU Kenya overpowered Kisiwa TTI 32-22 in a thrilling league encounter earlier today.
The paramilitary side, known for their aggressive attacking play and rock-solid defense, secured their sixth consecutive win, earning two crucial points in their push for a top-three finish.
GSU, playing as hosts, came out with a blistering pace, establishing their dominance from the first whistle.
Their offensive unit displayed sharp interplay, executing fast breaks and well-coordinated set plays to dismantle Kisiwa TTI’s defense.
GSU’s goalkeeper Nicholas Ndoch, a key figure in Kenya’s national team, proved to be the difference-maker between the posts. His heroics included three crucial penalty saves, denying Kisiwa TTI a chance to close the gap before halftime.
At the break, GSU led 17-10, but Kisiwa TTI came out firing in the second half, pressing high and testing the GSU backcourt with quick offensive transitions. Philip Oscar, the team’s commanding center player, orchestrated a formidable defensive stand, executing a series of crucial tackles to shut down Kisiwa’s attacks.
GSU’s attacking efficiency ultimately sealed the victory with Solomon Tenge emerging as the top scorer of the fixture with 7 points, while Joshua Kiplagat followed closely with 6 points, ensuring a comfortable margin for the home side.
With this victory, GSU now sits in fourth place with 22 points, eyeing a move into the top three as they chase Ulinzi, who currently occupy third position. Meanwhile, Kisiwa TTI, despite their fourth loss of the season, continue to show steady improvement, sitting 19th in the standings with 6 points.
GSU will now set their sights on their next fixture, determined to extend their winning streak and solidify their status as title contenders in the league.
