Gor Mahia held by Sofapaka in league clash

The visitors ( Gor) took a late lead in the 68th minute through Joshua Onyango as he nodded Austine Odhiambo's well lofted free kick past Sofapaka's custodian Edward Olak.
Batoto ba Mungu would however respond in the dying minutes through substitute Douglas Koech in the 91st minute to break The Green Army's hearts who had looked to close the gap on League leaders Police Fc.
The 21 time champions, who were without head coach Sinica Mihic who could only watch from the stands as he served his one game match suspension started on a high, with talisman Austine Odhiambo' s first shot of the game parried away by Olak to keep K'Ogalo at bay.
Samuel Onyango was found unmarked at the far post after a well timed forward dash but could not apply the finish to match it, as he saw his first time placement go wide off the post.
Sofapaka would have their moment in the first half as Bramwel Simiyu saw his shot hit the woodwork after Rodgers Kipkemoi's shot attempt rebounded to him but could not apply the needed finish.
Fan favourite Benson Omala thought he had given Gor the lead minutes to the break when he towered past the Sofapaka defense to head in Lawrence Ochieng's cross at the back post. K'ogalo's joy would however be short lived as the Omala was deemed offside by the assistant referee to close out an eventful first half.
Austine Odhiambo's free kick in the beginning of the second half hit the crossbar after Olak's clearance attempt as K'ogalo kept knocking.
Omala once again had the ball in the net but was again deemed offside, much to the frustrations of the K'ogalo faithful who as always had travelled to watch their side .
The pendulum of good luck would finally swing to their side when Austine Odhiambo's well taken free kick was nodded home by Joshua Onyango who had risen highest among the tree of defenders to give his side the much needed advantage.
In a desperate attempt to salvage at least a point, Sofapaka tactician Ezekiel Akwana sought out the services of the silky Edward Omondi who danced and slithered his way past two K'ogalo defenders to set up fellow substitute Douglas Koech who pounced to square it 1-1 in the 91st minute.
The dejected K'ogalo remain third on the log , two points adrift off League leaders Police who secured a 1-0 win yesterday against Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Complex.
