Gor Mahia charts a bold future with new stadium plans

Deputy Chief of Staff Performance and Delivery Management and Gor Mahia Deputy Patron Mr. Eliud Owalo accompanied by Gor Mahia Club officials Chairman Ambrose Rachier, Vice Chairperson Sally Bollo, Secretary General Nicanor Arum and treasurer Gerphas Okuku, tour a potential piece of land for Gor Mahia stadium in Lukenya, Machakos County
The purpose: a stadium and sports complex that will not only anchor the club but elevate its brand on the continental stage.
“We made a promise just last week, to find a suitable location for the construction of a Gor Mahia stadium. Today, we’re here turning that promise into action," said Owalo.
The vision is bold - a stadium designed to be a fortress for the K’Ogalo faithful.
Plans include three training pitches tailored for the senior team, youth academy, and Gor Mahia Queens.
There will be on-site accommodation for players, an hotel for guests, a gym and convertible indoor gymnasium, and full recovery facilities.
Additionally, the complex will host club offices, a media centre, a merchandise and retail spaces.
“This site’s proximity to Nairobi makes it ideal. It’s accessible no matter how fans travel - by car, bus, or even by foot if they’re as passionate as we know they are,” added Owalo, underscoring the strategic advantage of the Lukenya location.
Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier echoed the weight of the moment: “We just pray that God gives us the wisdom and ability to do the construction that we intend to do.”
Present at the landmark site visit were vice chairperson Sally Bollo, Secretary General Nick Arum, and Treasurer Gerphas Okuku.
