Gor Mahia announce reforms for matchday operations

In an official memo released Friday by the club secretary general Nick Arum, the Kenyan football giants expressed gratitude to fans for their discipline and peaceful conduct during the derby, which contributed to a historic and vibrant atmosphere.

However, the management issued a public apology for the confusion and delays experienced at the stadium gates, promising corrective measures moving forward.

To ease gate operations, the club has resolved that home match gates will now be manned by alternative security personnel instead of branch stewards and representatives.

This change will be implemented starting with Gor Mahia’s next home fixture against Kenya Police FC.

Further, the club has directed all its branches countrywide to officially affiliate by remitting a Ksh. 20,000 fees.

Also, all branches are expected to conduct internal elections within 60 days, with each branch required to have a minimum of 50 registered and active members.

Additionally, branches must nominate two stewards, who will then elect branch officials. All nominated stewards must hold valid certificates of good conduct, and their responsibilities will be strictly on-field control.

Gor Mahia also reiterated their commitment to transitioning fully into e-ticketing, urging fans to use official ticketing links and avoid purchasing tickets from unauthorized vendors.

The memo firmly states that no exemptions will be made; everyone, including club officials, must purchase tickets for home matches.

These actions come days after the Club's Vice Chairperson, Sally Bollo, showed her frustration with fans who attempted to access the stadium or obtain tickets for the derby through other unofficial procedures.

The new measures underscore club’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and modernization, as the club seeks to realign its internal structures and improve fan experiences both on and off the pitch.
