National Super League (NSL) side, Nzoia Sugar FC, risks relegation to the Division One League after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Kisumu All Stars at the weekend.

However, the club's interim coach Peter Ginn has promised to rectify the mistakes that cost his side dearly in the weekend fixture against the lakeside outfit.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Ginn stated that he is committed to steer the club to safety and retain their NSL status, even as they gear up for another crucial clash against 3K FC this weekend.

Ginn, who took responsibility for the loss, was however quick to highlight the missed scoring chances his players had that could have changed the outcome of the match in their favor.

He reiterated that his team is focused on improving its finishing and sharpening its focus as the season enters the final stretch.

“I have full confidence in my players. We created the chances, but we failed to convert them. That is something we are working on ahead of our next game,” Ginn said. “We are determined to correct those mistakes and give our fans something to cheer about.”

Though Nzoia sit precariously in 15th place on the NSL standings, just two spots above the relegation zone with 29 points from 28 matches, Ginn remains bullish that relegation is not on the cards this season.

Nzoia will host 3K FC at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma County this weekend, in a clash that could prove pivotal in their fight to remain in the second tier league next season.
