GHF Pirates’ last-minute goal seals victory against Multi Media University

The GHF Pirates ladies secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Multi Media University ladies in their Kenya Hockey Union encounter at City Park this morning.

Despite early attempts by both teams in the first period, neither could convert, leading to a goalless first half.

As the game progressed into the third period, both teams displayed renewed energy, but it was ultimately fruitless. However, in the fourth period, fatigue appeared to affect the Multi Media University ladies, diminishing their earlier threat.

The decisive moment arrived in the 57th minute when Mercy Cherop scored the winning goal for GHF Pirates.

Although Multi Media University ladies launched a last-minute attack in search of an equalizer, they squandered an open chance.

For GHF Pirates, this victory comes after a two-match winless streak, boosting their confidence for upcoming matches.

On the other hand, the Multi-Media University ladies' defeat leaves them in 6th place in the league standings with 26 points from 19 games. They now prepare for an away match against Mombasa Sports Club Women in Mombasa.
