FKF forms committee to oversee transition
The Committee will be chaired by FKF vice president Macdonald Mariga with FKF Women's Representative Kerubo Momanyi as the deputy chairperson.
“Following deliberations by the National Executive Council (NEC) in December, the committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of establishing robust governance structures and ensuring a seamless transition for the federation,” said FKF in a statement.
“Upper Rift FKF Branch NEC Member Bernard Lagat will serve as Secretary, while the other members are Eastern NEC Member Charles Njoka Njagi, Central NEC Member Robert Macharia, North Eastern NEC Member Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar and Lower Rift NEC Member Peter “Kass Kass” Kamau.”
The transitional committee will also commission a forensic audit, auditing internal processes and policies, facilitating operational continuity and strengthening organizational capacity.
“The committee’s primary mandate is to; ensure that the essential functions, systems, and processes of FKF are maintained during the transition to avoid any disruptions, uphold FKF’s transparency, credibility, and commitment to its mandate throughout the handover process, equip the newly elected National Executive Committee with the knowledge, tools, and understanding of the federation’s current status to effectively manage its affairs.”
“Strengthen the administrative, technical, and strategic capabilities of FKF to ensure sustainable growth and long-term success and conduct a comprehensive audit focusing on finance and human resources to enhance accountability and transparency,” the statement added.
Hussein Mohammed was elected the new FKF boss during the national elections held on December 7, ending Nick Mwendwa’s eight-year reign.
