FKF Electoral Board cancels football elections

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Elections Board has cancelled elections that had been slated for Saturday December 18 2015.

In a statement sent to media houses, the board chair Donald Kipkorir said it had taken the decision owing to the appeals at the FKF Appeals Board concerning allegations of irregularity at recently held sub-branch elections

“With great regret, FKF Elections Board announces cancellations of Branch and National Elections scheduled for December 18th and 22nd respectively. The cancellation has been necessitated by the on-going appeals at the FKF Appeals Board, which appeals arise from the recently concluded Sub – Branch Elections,” he stated.

“We have consistently informed the public that the elections shall and are free, fair and transparent and giving room to appeals enhances our pledge. We will announce new dates once the appeals period ends early next week.”

Several contestants have so far expressed dissatisfaction with the manner in which the sub branch elections were held with others calling for fresh elections.
