Kenya will field five volleyball clubs—three women and two men teams—at the CAVB Zone V Club Championship, scheduled for February 16-22, 2025, at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Uganda.

The Kenyan contingent comprises national women’s league champions KCB, holders Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Prisons (men and women teams), and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men’s side.

Pipeline will be out to retain their women’s title while KPA and Kenya Prisons will challenge for the men’s crown currently held by Rwanda Police.

Preparations are in full swing, with the Kenyan teams set to resume training next week to fine-tune their skills ahead of the championship.

Uganda secured hosting rights through a formal bidding process, edging out Rwanda.

As the host nation, Uganda will field eight teams; four men teams (Sport-S, Nemostars, KAVC, and UCU) and four women teams (Nkumba, Sport-S, Ndejje, and KCCA).

The prestigious event is expected to elevate Uganda’s profile in the sport while offering local teams a chance to compete against top clubs from the region.

The championship promises thrilling volleyball action, fostering regional unity and highlighting the exceptional talent within Zone V.
