Equity out to stop Masaku Sparks in KBF

Equity Head Coach David Maina has expressed confidence in his side following their much anticipated clash against experienced side Masaku Sparks in their last fixture as the first leg of the Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League draws to a close.

Top-notch Equity Bank have played nine games winning eight, losing only one against defending champions KPA and are looking forward to continue with their winning streak as they face off with Sparks at the USIU grounds on Saturday 30th June.

Speaking to citizen digital, Equity head Coach David Maina said he has high hopes of clinching the title judging from the impressive run displayed by the girls.

“I‘m looking forward to starting the game with some of the new signings Lillian Mboga ,Reetah Onyango and Brenda Ngaira so that they too can also feel the intensity of the game .We are taking the league games with the seriousness they deserve as they act as build up matches for the Zone 5 tournament.” He added

Elsewhere, Abel Nson who plays the head coach role for women side Storms and male side Thunder will have a tough weekend as they travel to Mombasa to take on KPA in their away fixture hoping to come out with a win.

“Our main practice plan for the KPA match is approaching the game with a smart and physical perspective if we want to stand a chance to grab the win.KPA is a really physical team when it comes to their mode of play and set pieces, it is therefore important that we withstand their physicality and make sure we don’t crack under pressure. It won’t be an easy fixture as their team has been together for more than four years which has basically built a natural team chemistry for them.” Said Abel Nson.
