EPL legend Andy Cole lauds African football talent

Former Manchester United striker and English Premier League legend Andy Cole has showered praises on African football during his ongoing visit to Kenya, describing the continent as a powerhouse of talent that only needs continued nurturing and exposure.
Cole, who is in Kenya courtesy of Football Fiesta an organization committed to bringing fun football experiences to fans is on his third tour of the country.
His previous visits include a 2013 football promotional event and a 2017 charity-driven coaching clinic.
This year’s tour includes interactive coaching clinics, meet-and-greets with fans, and grassroots talent exposure. Earlier today, Cole visited Kileleshwa Primary School in Nairobi to watch an Under-17 training session where he expressed confidence in Africa’s football future.
“I wouldn't say that no, not at all. I think we all know the talent what's in Africa. I mean, me coming here is not going to make that talent any better or any worse, you know? I think they have proved themselves in European football for many years now.”
Cole, whose illustrious career includes five Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League win with Manchester United, believes African cities are breeding grounds for world-class talent.
“If you look at the talent in those cities, that tells you everything that you need to be told, you know, about African players that they are top players,” he added.
Cole also touched on the upcoming Manchester Derby, backing his former club to edge out rivals Manchester City.
“I am hoping City is not going to win the game. It's not going to be easy, it's going to be a tough game, but I think in Derby games, you never know what can happen. Manchester City's phone is being up and down, so as Manchester United's fall being up and down. But touching on it like I said, Derby games wherever turns up on the day. A mistake can cost points.”
Cole’s visit has not only rekindled fan excitement across Nairobi but has also breathed new energy into youth football, offering a moment of inspiration for Kenya’s budding stars.
