Double delight for Hassan after brace before Firat
Bandari FC winger Abdallah Hassan has
expressed his delight at opening his goals account this season, with a brace in
their 3-0 win against debutants Talanta FC over the weekend.
The speedy winger has at the same time added that the goals came
at the right time as Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat witnessed the match
ahead of November international break.
Firat has included Abdalla in his 27-man squad for the Uganda
and Rwanda World Cup qualifiers set for November 11 and 15, in the lineup
released Monday afternoon.
Hassan scored the first two goals as on-form William Wadri added
the third as Talanta succumbed to their first defeat in the top flight having
won two and drew two.
“My season has started now and I hope to bang more goals for the
betterment of the team and myself,” said the soft spoken player.
He added, “The goals came at the right moments as coach Firat
was watching from the stand as I look to cement my place in the national team
this month”.
Bandari FC coach Andre Casa Mbungo lauded Abdallah who started
the season on a low note, hindered by a knock he suffered at the onset.
“Abdallah is always an important player in the team. He was on
and off due to small injuries which has hampered his progress but he is now
fully back,” said coach Mbungo.
Meanwhile, former Tusker FC striker Chris Ochieng earned his
debut, coming on as a substitute in the win.
Bandari have now signed seven new players after Andrew Juma
and Faraj Ominde who were signed together with Joseph Okoth, Rodgers Aloro,
Boniface Mwangemi and Whyvone Isuza.
The Dockers who are back on the top of the league with 12 points
after 5 matches will face another tough test this weekend against their former
coach Bernard Mwalala who is at the helm of Kakamega Homeboyz.
They have won four matches, losing one while Homeboyz have won all their four matches they have played so far.
