Dismas Indiza wins final leg of 2023/2024 Safari Golf Tour

Dismas Indiza
is the overall winner of the sixth and final leg of the 2023/2024 Safari Golf
Tour Series held Wednesday at the par-72 Karen Country Club, Nairobi.
Indiza finished
18 under par with rounds of 68, 66, 69 and 67 for a four-day total of 270. The
Kakamega-based pro took home the top prize of KSh150,000 and effectively earned
a spot in this year’s Magical Kenya Open to be held later this month.
Finishing in
second place was Uganda pro Ronald Rugumayo, whose 12 under par included rounds
of 68, 63, 70 and 75 for a total of 276 and a prize money of Sh100,000.
Meanwhile, Greg Snow’s 11 under par was good enough for third place. Snow
carded 73, 69, 69 and 66 for a 277 total and Sh80,000 prize money.
Muthaiga-based
Mutahi Kibugu finished fourth on a total of 5 under par 283 while Kenya Railway
Golf Club's Samuel Njoroge was fifth on a total of 2 under par 286.

their mettle against some of the world's top talent.”
The 2023/2024
Safari Tour comprised six legs held at different golf clubs across Kenya and
Uganda over the past four months. The tour teed off at the Uganda Open in
October last year followed by legs at the Vetlab Sports Club, Sigona Golf Club,
Limuru Country Club, Muthaiga Golf Club, before concluding at the Karen Country
Club this week.
Over 23
players drawn from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe,
and Nigeria took part in the annual tournament.
The top eight
professionals on the final Safari Tour Order of Merit have secured spots at the
DP World Tour-sanctioned Magical Kenya Open to be held from February 22-25 at
the Muthaiga Golf Club, Nairobi.
They include Dismas Indiza on 294.5 points,
Samuel Njoroge (251), Greg Snow (234.3), Daniel Nduva (172), Njoroge Kibugu
(160.5), Zimbabwe’s Visitor Mapwanya (154), Mike Kisia (153.8) and Mohit Medidata
(153).
