DCI hire Mukopi from Equity as head coach
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations
(DCI) women’s volleyball team have appointed former General Service Unit
liberal Jeremiah Mukopi as their head coach ahead of the new season that begins
next month.
Mukopi replaces Daniel Bor, who passed away in
April after a short illness.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Mukopi expressed
his desire to steer DCI to the top level.
“I’m happy to join the DCI family. It is a new
chapter for me to help the girls grow their talents and challenge for the
titles. It will not be easy, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
Before becoming DCI's head coach, Mukopi had
been an assistant coach at Equity Bank men's volleyball club.
Mukopi has also coached Tetu High School,
Mautuma Secondary School, and Kwanthanze Secondary School volleyball clubs.
This will be the first time Mukopi is taking
charge of a female team after stints at Kenya Ports Authority and the bankers.
His first major task is to make DCI a
title challenger in the league largely dominated by KCB and Kenya
Pipeline.
