The 2023-2024 Kenya basketball federation Premier League season is set to kick off on August 25.

The team managers meeting is expected to be held on 5th next month at the Nyayo National Stadium from 2:00pm, to discuss the league format survey report, which will inform the 2023-2024 league format.

Among other new proposals on the table, the federation is considering inclusion of the 3X3 wheelchair and deaf basketball competitions in the league.

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men and women teams defended their Premier League titles last season.

The meeting will also be used to appoint the league committee.

The 2022-2023 leagues ended in June despite starting as early as April 2022, the most prolonged league ever in the history of the KBF.

Another new proposal is that the Premier League should to be divided into two; Eastern and Western conferences having eight teams each.

This proposal targets both the men's Premier League, Women Premier League and men's Division One.

If this is to be adopted, then no team would be relegated as four teams will be promoted to each league.

The proposal seeks to have women Division One and men Division Two remain in their current format, with 12 teams each.
