Coach Shimenga calls for patience after Shujaa poor start to the Paris Olympics

Butula Boys High School rugby head coach
Shimenga Livondo says the youthful national sevens team, Shujaa, needs to be given time to develop for the purpose of future
development.
“Most of the players have not played at that high level before, they are still young and hungry for success but are lost to very
experienced side. So, if we are calm and patient with the team, we have a great team in the making,” said Shimenga.
Shujaa lost 31-12 to Argentina in their
opening Pool B match on Wednesday, July 24, before
going down to Australia 21-7.
The veteran tactician says if the team works on how to handle set pieces, they would be able to get a good result against Samoa in their last pool match on Thursday at
3pm EAT.
“They tried their best in both matches but
they have to improve on how they execute their set piece and also the urgency
on the ball. Those are some of the areas they need to work
on moving forward,”
stated the
experienced tactician.
Shujaa will be hoping to turn the tides and defeat Samoa by a huge
margin in their last pool match, and hope to be among the two third-placed best
teams to make it to the quarters.
