Coach Odhiambo rallies Bandari FC to break the slump and fight

Bandari FC head coach Ken Odhiambo is urging every corner of
his squad to step up as the club battles to shake off a string of disappointing
results in the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL).
After a narrow 1-0 home loss at home in Mbaraki to Kakamega
Homeboyz, the tactician isn't pointing fingers—he’s calling for unity and for
every player to meet the moment.
“We must learn and admit that football demands patience and
heart. It’s not easy. You have to cope with the pressure,” said Odhiambo. “Even
when you win, the pressure doesn't go away—it only shifts to the next game. If
you’re not feeling that pressure, maybe you’re not cut out for this.”
Currently sitting 9th on the league table with 36 points from
27 matches, Bandari FC have struggled with form and depth. Odhiambo
acknowledged that several players in the current squad are still green, and the
absence of key men like Fidel and Sharif due to suspension has exposed the
team’s fragility.
“They had five yellow cards each, so they missed the game.
But football isn’t about individuals. All 30 players have to be ready to step
up when called upon,” he said.
Coach Ken isn’t interested in excuses; he has made it clear
that the road ahead won’t be easy, but with a united front, Bandari can find
their rhythm once again.
“This team still has a long way to go. We can’t afford to
rely too heavily on certain players. That’s something we must fix if we want to
move forward.”
In their last five KPL matches, the ‘Dockers' have secured
just one win against Ulinzi Stars, earned a draw with Tusker FC, and suffered
three defeats in the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz, Gor Mahia, and Shabana FC.
Now, they turn their attention to this weekend’s away clash against Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi, hoping to change their fortunes.
