Coach Nyamuh hoping to isnpire Vihiga to KWPL title again

Vihiga Queens coach Boniface Nyamuhnyamuh is optimistic that they will reclaim the Kenyan Women Premier League title (FKF PL) title this season, from holders Police Bullets.

Nyamuh feels the proper pre-season they had allowed them to start on a good run, currently at second on the log with 10 points – a good foundation for the title challenge.

They are thus tied at the top with Kibera Soccer Ladies, while Bungoma Queens, Trinity Starlets and Kenya Police Bullets wrap up positions three to five with 9, 9 and 8 points in that order.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Nyamuh said the new inclusions they have in the team have settled, as he hopes that they will fuel their agenda of winning the title this season.

“Our aim this season is to clinch the Kenya Women Premier League (FKF WPL) title which I’m sure we will achieve. We had good preparations before the league kicked off and that has given us a very good start

"We want to build on it (impressive start) and ensure we keep a fine run. It’s my hope that the same momentum will remain as we aim to restore our lost glory,” Nyamuh said. 

However, this time round, the coach expects a different run, having worked hard to bridge the gap that was so evident between them and Police then.

Vihiga have enjoyed a one week break as they will play Bunyore Starlets on Saturday at Moi stadium in Kisumu and Nyamuh is confident enough of harvesting maximum points.

“The one week break has assisted me to improve on my striking department which was a bit shaky, so I believe we are going to be very sharp in next fixture and emerge victorious.”

Other weekend fixtures will see Mombasa Olypics taking on Zetech Sparks at Ronald Ngala Stadium in Mombasa, Bungoma Queens will host the soldier Uinzi Starlets at the National Polytechnic in Bungoma as newbies Trinity Starlets will be tackling Kisped at RVIST grounds.

Kisumu All Starlets will host Kibera Soccer Ladies as Wadadia will be tackling the champions Kenya police at Mumias Sports Complex.
