Coach Ibs proud of Thunder after perfect start

City Thunder basketball team head coach Brad Ibs says their defense stood out for them in their weekend win against Kenyatta University’s Pirates in the Kenya Men’s Premier League match .

Thunder continued with their unbeaten run in the league as they thrashed the Pirates with a convincing 90-20 victory at the Nyayo Gymnasium on Sunday.

“Our defensive intensity and connectedness made me realize that this was our best game playing defensive together very well and we are looking forward to building on that effort,” Ibs said.

At the same time the new coach is proud of the team chemistry that the team has been building since the league started.

“I feel the boys are kind of settling into their roles as we are a new team to each other and I think we need a bit of time to settle in. how we play together and complement one another is something that’s happening very well.

Overall, our spirits are very high, the players are really supporting the successes of one another which is a very great sign for our long term success,” Ibs added.

City Thunder have so far played five matches, winning all of them and suit at the top of the table with 10 points

Thunder will be facing Eldonets Platinum on Saturday in their sixth match of the season at Nyayo Gymnasium.

Prior to their weekend heroic win against KU Pirates, Thunder had defeated ANU Wolfpacks, Umoja, USIU Tigers and ABSA in their first four matches.
