Following the sugar millers' 1-0 loss to Luanda Villa last weekend, Ginn said his team has worked hard to rectify the mistakes that led to the defeat and is now focused on returning to winning ways.
Speaking to Citizen Digital in the build-up to the tie, Ginn affirmed that his squad is mentally and physically prepared to face Mombasa Stars in what is expected to be a high-stakes battle at the coast.
“We've taken time to address the lapses that cost us against Luanda Villa. The players have shown character and commitment in training, and we are going to Mombasa with one clear goal — to win and get our season back on track,” said Ginn.
Currently, Nzoia Sugar FC is 15th on the NSL log with 28 points after 26 matches — just above the relegation zone. Their opponents, Mombasa Stars, are also in danger of going down, making the clash a potential six-pointer in the race for survival.
Ginn has also moved to reassure the club’s faithful, insisting that despite the difficult run of form, Nzoia FC will not be relegated. He emphasized the team’s commitment to honoring all their remaining fixtures and fighting until the final whistle of the season.
“I want to assure our fans that Nzoia will not be relegated. We are committed to playing every match with passion and purpose, and I believe we have what it takes to survive. We will fight to the end,” he added.
The match kicks off this weekend at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium, with both teams aware that anything less than victory could further complicate their stay in the second tier.
