Chebet, Wanyonyi storm to world leads in Xiamen

Fresh from world medal-winning performances at the in Budapest, Chebet blew away the women's 3000m field to clock a new personal best, meeting record and a world lead of 8:24.05.
"I am very happy to break my season best as well as my person best. I was the Diamond League Final winner. I still feel motivated and I believe myself that I can do it. And there are a lot of fans being there to support us. I think the stadium and the audience are really good. I am also looking forward to the ensuing game." Chebet said.
On his part, Wanyonyi had to dig deep to beat world champion Marco Arop of Canada on the finish line after timing 1:43.20 which is also a personal best and a meeting record.
It was a sweet revenge for Wanyonyi who lost to Arop just a week ago in the finals of the men's 800m in Budapest.
Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal came home fourth.
Nelly Chepchirchir settled for the second spot in the women's 1500m in a personal best of 3:76.52 . Ethiopia's Hailu Freyweni triumphed in 3:56.56
Former world junior champion Amos Serem placed third in the men's 3000m steeplechase won by Soufiane El Bakali of Morocco.
World bronze medalist Abraham Kibiwott and Olympic bronze medalist Benjamin Kigen finished fourth and eighth respectively.
