Bunyore Starlets courting coach Muhambe to replace Nick Aketch
Muhambe will replace Nick Aketch who stepped down from his head coach role just weeks after his appointment.
“I have learned about Nick Aketch's departure via social media. Although he has largely been unreachable, I managed to talk to him this Tuesday on phone and I expect that stakeholders will be briefed after this weekend on the wayforward,” Mabwa said.
“This weekend we don’t have a game due to the international break so we will use the opportunity to sort out the technical bench challenges we are facing. We want our first win when we meet Wadadia FC early next month even though we will be away.”
Mabwa believes seasoned Muhambe will help the team return to their winning ways as the management works towards seeking a lasting solution to the challenges in the technical bench.
The club has in the past few months experienced leadership differences that led to mass player exodus last season.
Aketch cited an “antagonistic environment” and lack of support as key reasons for his resignation with his brief tenure having him oversee two defeats in the FKF Women Premier League, losing 3-0 to Trinity Starlets and 2-0 against Police Bullets, leaving them at the bottom of the table.
