The Bungoma Queens team manager Manager Celestimatic Munyefu has commended her players for their good work despite losing to Kibera Soccer Ladies in their weekend match.

The Queens fell 4-5 in a high-scoring match, and in a conversation with Citizen Digital, Munyefu attributed their defeat to flooding of the playing ground, due to the adverse weather that pounded Kajiado, making the Wolves Den pitch slippery.

She said: "The girls tried their best. It had rained heavily and the field was flooded. We were leading in the number of goals. There was however a little mix up in the field during the second half, and that's why our opponents scored five goals.”

"Our biggest challenge was that we had absentees. Not everyone had fully resumed after the holidays, others had other commitments. We know our fans are not very much pleased but we promise to do better," stated Munyefu.

Bungoma Queens are perched at position 11 on the log, with nine points, while their Kibera counterparts are at position four with 21points.
