Bungoma Queens now point fingers at fans in wake of defeat
Bungoma Queens club head coach Celestimatic
Munyefu has chided the team’s fans for failing to show up during their match
against Police Bullets, a game they lost 3-0.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, Munyefu revealed that three quarters of the cheering
squad at the match venue belonged to Police Bullets.
"One advantage that our competitors
had over us was that they had full support. Their fans showed up in large
numbers and cheered them. Ours on the other hand, were not even present,"
Munyefu said.
Eliud Khaemba, an ardent fan of Bungoma
Queens, seconded Munyefu's comments stating that the absence of the cheering
squad did hurt the morale of the players, leading to their loss.
"I personally went to the field to
show support for my team and surprisingly there were no fans present. The
players lost their morale. When they saw fans of the other team they
tensed," stated Khaemba.
Bungoma Queens however still remain at
position 10 on the chart with nine points despite the defeat, while their
counterparts, Police Bullets hold the top position with 28 points.
In other matches, Vihiga Queens thrashed Kibera
Soccer Ladies 2-0 while Wadadia secured
a draw against Ulinzi Starlets.
