Bungoma Queens eye top spot in Zetech showdown
Bungoma Queens head
coach Godfrey Mabonga is optimistic about his team’s prospects in their
upcoming FKF Women's Premier League clash against Zetech Sparks.
The game, scheduled
for Saturday at the Dandora Grounds in Nairobi, carries significant weight as
both teams are currently tied on 10 points.
However, Queens hold a
slight edge, sitting in fifth place on the table due to their superior goal
difference.
Speaking to Citizen
Digital, Mabonga emphasized the importance of the match, stating that a win
would solidify their position in the league standings and boost their momentum
for the season.
“We are focused on
securing maximum points in this game. If we win, it will greatly improve our
standing and give us the confidence to push further in the league,” he said.
The tactician also
took a moment to commend his players for their spirited performance in their
previous match, a thrilling 2-2 draw against Ulinzi Starlets.
“The team showed great
character and resilience against Ulinzi Starlets.
This kind of
performance gives me confidence heading into the Zetech Sparks game,” Mabonga
noted.
Meanwhile, with both
teams locked on equal points, the match promises to be a closely contested affair.
Zetech Sparks will be
keen to climb up the table, making this a critical encounter for both sides.
