The
Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League (KWPL) returns this Wednesday
after a short break, and Bungoma Queens are ready to face the league leaders,
Kenya Police Bullets.
Queens' head coach Godfrey Mabonga backed his side to fight Police for all
bragging rights despite their opponent’s impressive run.
"We're going to face one of the best teams in the league. It is a very
experienced side and that's why they are on top of the table.
“Also being coached by the national team head coach sums it up that the assignment ahead will not be a walk in the park," Mabonga told Citizen Digital.
Additionally, Mabonga admitted that their dream of winning the league title is
no longer achievable for now, and he is only focused on ensuring they finish
the season in a good position.
"The girls are in good shape, mentally and physically. They are psyched up
to face Bullets, and our main aim is to finish the season in a better
place," he added.
The match is scheduled to be played at the Bungoma National Polytechnic grounds
tomorrow starting at 3.00 PM.
Bungoma
Queens are placed fifth on the log with 26 points in 18 matches.
