Bungoma Queens coach targets return to FKF Women’s Premier League summit
Bungoma Queens' head coach Godfrey Mabonga has his eyes
firmly set on reclaiming the top spot in the FKF Women’s Premier League as his
team pushes for a strong finish to the season.
Speaking to Citizen Digital,
Mabonga expressed confidence following their recent 2-1 victory against Zetech
Sparks on Saturday, which briefly catapulted Bungoma Queens to the top
of the league standings.
“We sat at the top of the table briefly after our win against Zetech
Sparks. I am focused on ensuring we achieve positive results in our upcoming
matches to reclaim that position,” Mabonga said.
This weekend, the Queens face another stern test as they prepare to take
on Mombasa Olympic. Mabonga has assured fans of his team’s readiness for the
crucial clash.
“We are ready and have put in the work to ensure we secure maximum points
this weekend,” he added.
The upcoming fixture holds significant stakes for Bungoma Queens, who currently
sit second in the league with 13 points, just three behind leaders Kibera
Soccer Women. With the title race heating up, every match has become a must-win
for Mabonga’s side.
Victory over the Mombasa Olympics would not only maintain pressure on Kibera Soccer Women but also keep Bungoma Queens’ title ambitions alive as the season approaches its decisive stages.
