Bullets coach Owoko blames referee for defeat to Gor

Owoko wants FKF to take stern action against match officials who fail to follow the rules even as he shifted focus to tomorrow’s fixture against Nzoia Sugar at Sudi.

The coach however did not specify the areas of his complaints but wanted the federation to be keen on some of the match officials he claimed were out to ruin the game.

“Yes we understand we are underdogs and our club is still growing and is not a big club but it is better when we need to develop football in our country, referees must be fair enough. There is no need for them to come into the pitch already made up that this and this team will win,” lamented Owoko.

Owoko will not be on the touchline after he was red-carded following his outbursts at Kisumu but is hopeful they can upset the in-form Nzoia Sugar.

“I won’t be at the touchline since I was red carded in that game because I was over my emotions from what I saw the referee doing in the field but I will be watching the game on the terraces and I am hoping the boys will be able to pull out some good performance and redeem our run,” he added.

The Vihiga-based team lie 17th on the table with only four points after seven rounds, although they have played four fewer matches due to the confusion on promotion and relegation that emerged at the start of the season.

They have managed only one win against City Stars earlier this month and Owoko is attributing the disastrous run to severe financial problems where  players have gone for months without pay.

They face a Nzoia Sugar side who are having a fine season sitting third on 21 points , two adrift of the reigning champions and leaders Tusker FC.

The Sudi based side will be eyeing to get back to the winning ways after 2-0 defeat by Police FC at Nyayo Stadium last weekend.
