Bruno steps into the role with the immediate goal of guiding the second-tier side to promotion into the FKF Premier League.
Bruno’s appointment comes just weeks after he ended a six-year stint with Kisumu All Stars, where he rose through the ranks from assistant coach to head coach. He joined the Kisumu-based outfit in 2019 from the now-defunct Nakumatt FC and was elevated to head coach on October 17, 2023.
In his debut season, he led the team to an impressive fifth-place finish with 62 points, narrowly missing out on promotion. Despite financial difficulties in the just-concluded campaign, he steered the club to an eighth-place finish with 48 points.
MOFA FC, which finished seventh in the 2024/25 National Super League (NSL) season with 49 points, will be looking to build on that momentum under Bruno’s leadership. He replaces Lloyd Wahome, whose contract expired on July 2 after taking charge in April 2025.
Owned by Harambee Stars captain and Al Arabi SC forward Michael Olunga, MOFA FC has rapidly grown into one of Kenya’s most ambitious football academies.
The academy has invested heavily in both player development and academic partnerships. In 2023, MOFA signed strategic agreements with Agoro Sare High School, St Mary’s Yala, and Kisumu Day to promote holistic growth and identify talent across the region.
Bruno also brings national team experience to the job, where he previously served as assistant coach to the Harambee Starlets.
Before moving into coaching, he had a successful playing career as a dependable defender, turning out for giants Gor Mahia—where he won two league titles—AFC Leopards, Sony Sugar, and Thika United. He also earned caps for the Kenyan national team.
With Bruno now at the helm, MOFA FC is hoping his experience and tactical knowledge will be the catalyst needed to secure a historic promotion to the FKF Premier League.
