Brookside injects Ksh.30 million to KSSSA Term One games

The 2025 Kenya Secondary Schools Term One National Games received a significant boost on Wednesday after Brookside Dairy injected Ksh.30 million as sponsorship for the competition.
The sponsorship will cater for the preparations, kitting of
participants, and the medals and certificates to be awarded to winners.
The games are scheduled to take place from April 8 to 12,
2025 in Mombasa, and will be spread across Shimo la Tewa, Shanzu, and Aga Khan
Schools.
Brookside Dairy Corporate Communications Manager, Wilson
Okong’o, reaffirmed the company's commitment to nurturing young sporting
talent, hinting at future collaborations with the Kenya Secondary Schools
Sports Association (KSSSA).
“Brookside is keen to support talent growth in the country.
Through this initiative, we help unearth young sporting talents, and we will
continue partnering with KSSSA to nurture them,” Okong’o stated.
Receiving the dummy cheque on behalf of the Ministry of Education was Nelson Sifuna, Head of Directorate of Field Coordination and Co-Curricular Activities.
Sifuna lauded Brookside for its continued support,
emphasizing the impact of such partnerships on budding athletes.
KSSSA Secretary General, David Ngugi, confirmed that over 3,000 athletes are expected to participate in this year's games, which will feature athletics, basketball 5-on-5, hockey, cross-country, handball, rugby 15s, and swimming.
Brookside Dairy has sponsored the inter-schools competitions since 2002, a commitment that has seen many young talents progress to club level both locally and internationally.
“We have seen the fruits of this partnership. Many of the talented boys and girls who participated in these games are now playing at club level, both locally and abroad,” Okong’o told Citizen Digital.
“As Brookside, we take pride in this initiative, and I want to assure students that we will walk this journey with them,” he added.
