Bobby Ogolla urges FKF unity, pledges support to grow the game

Legendary Kenyan footballer and coach John
"Bobby" Ogolla has urged the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to remain united as
it charts a new path for the sport in the country.
Ogolla called on the
federation to build on the goodwill of Kenyans who have embraced the Hussein
Mohammed-led administration, urging the officials to consult widely with
various football stakeholders.
“What I would like to advise the current administration is that there
is goodwill from the people, the people are expecting a lot from them
so what I am asking them is to be united and work together, and do
the things that the other office did not do since people in this new
office are qualified,”
he said.
He also pledged his support, stating that
veteran players and coaches should not be sidelined, but rather involved in the
football development agenda.
“We are there to support them in case of anything we are always
available to consult and share together and they should not take us for
granted too,” he added.
Ogolla was recently
inducted into the SOYA Hall of Fame in recognition of his illustrious football
career, which spans decades both as a celebrated player and as a respected
coach.
Speaking on the recognition, Ogolla said the
accolade was a proud moment that affirms his legacy in Kenyan football, spanning
decades as a player and head coach.
“I didn't know it would come to this, it is a recognition of the highest order so I can only say that those I played with went into oblivion but I remained in the limelight as a coach and it is a great honour to God that I can still be honoured,” said the veteran tactician.
