Tusker FC have been hit with a major blow with striker Ryan
Ogam undergoing a knee surgery, delaying his return at a critical stage of the
season.
Ogam has been sidelined since February 26, when Tusker drew
1-1 with Shabana and hopes were high he could return to action ahead of their
match against Posta Rangers before the international break.
His surgery is a blow to coach Charles Okere, as he will
miss his talisman who has netted 15 goals to lead the FKF Premier League
scoring charts, putting Tusker just one point behind leaders Kenya Police who
have 48 points.
“Wishing a quick recovery to our top scorer Ryan Wesley Ogam
who has undergone a minor procedure for a meniscus tear. Quick recovery Rayo,
we can’t wait to have you back,” Tusker FC wrote on their social media pages, alongside
a photo of him in a hospital bed.
In his absence, Tusker have won two and drawn one of their last three matches.
A meniscus tear typically takes four to six weeks of recovery, a timeline that could determine whether Tusker lifts the league trophy or falls short in the final stretch of the campaign.
