The Kenya Volleyball Federation defending champions KCB Volleyball ladies have dislodged hapless Kenya Army 3-0 in the last KVF matches of the regular season played at the Nyayo Stadium.

Kenya Army put up a spirited fight in the first set, losing narrowly 25-18 to the Lionesses. KCB bounced back strongly in the second and third sets with 25-10 and 25-16, respectively to seal the 3-0 victory.

During the last round of matches for the regular season, KCB dismantled DCI Sleuths with a commanding 3-1 on Thursday. In that match, DCI fell with set scores of 15-25, 25-22, 13-25, and 19-25.

On Friday, KCB cruised past Young Spikers 3-0, with set scores of 25-08, 25-07, and 25-04. KCB was also awarded a walkover after the Vihiga Volleyball Team failed to show up to honour the fixture.

KCB's Technical Director Paul Bitok, speaking after the match, noted that, “It has been a good run, but we have finished on a high spirit. We are now preparing for the Kenya Cup this coming weekend and also the KVF playoffs matches.”

“We are also preparing for the Africa Club Championship matches coming up in April, and we will be looking forward to bringing back the trophy we won two years ago,” he added

KCB will return in action the next weekend facing Kenya Army and Kenya Pipeline on Saturday and Sunday respectively in the recently launched Kenya Cup Volleyball Tournament.

“The young players have breathed in a new life in the team. When we started, we lost two crucial matches against Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons, but with the boost we have received from the likes of Fridah Boke and Terry Tata, we have won all the remaining matches. They are our future,” Bitok added.
