FKF-Premier League side Shabana's new signing, Biron
‘Ngolo’ Otieno, is upbeat about his stint with the Gusii-based side, having
joined them from Kariobangi Sharks this off-season.
The 23-year-old was one of the most sought-after free
agents in the market, with record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia and newly promoted
side Nairobi United expressing strong interest.
The club also confirmed the signing of the player via
social media but failed to disclose the details of the contract.
“Biron is RED. We are delighted to announce the
signing of Biron ‘Ngolima’ Otieno from Kariobangi Sharks.
The Tore Bobe nation, let’s all welcome Kante to the
home of happiness,” stated a social media post from the club.
The signing of Otieno, who previously featured for
Kibera Black Stars in the National Super League (NSL), has been received with
excitement in Kisii.
Otieno was a key figure in the Sharks' midfield in the
2023/24 season,n playing as a deep pivot.
He featured in all 34 league matches before injury
disrupted his rhythm.
This move is seen as a statement of intent from
Shabana as they gear up to challenge for top honours, in line with their
ambitious five-year strategic plan.
At Shabana, Otieno will reunite with former teammates
Moses Shikanda and Keith Imbali, further strengthening a midfield unit that is
shaping up as one of the most formidable in the league.
