Bandari FC
forward, Beja Nyamawi, will continue his stay at the club after signing a
two-year contract extension.
Nyamawi, who
joined the coastal giants in 2023 from NSL side SS Assad of Kwale, had an
impressive 2022-2023 season where he finished as the league's top scorer with
20 goals.
Since his
arrival, Nyamawi, popularly known as ‘Lampard’, has become a key player for
Bandari FC. This season, he is the club's top scorer with 9 goals in the Kenyan
Premier League (KPL).
His impressive
performances earned him a call-up to the national team, Harambee Stars, for the
first time.
Bandari Deputy
Chairman Twaha Mbarak praised Beja's performance on the field, noting that his
efforts have impressed both the Board and the coaching staff.
“Beja’s
performance speaks for itself, and as the Bandari Board, we have no choice but
to extend his contract. We have faith that he will continue to grow and thrive
here," emphasized Twaha Mbarak.
Beja signed the
contract amid applause from those in attendance, including veteran coach Ricky Solomon, who
was also present at the event. "There's a bright future here, and we have
no option but to extend gratitude by extending the contract," said Ricky
Solomon.
