Bandari unveil 12 new signings, coach Baraza handed two-year contract

The Dockers signed Harambee Stars goalkeeper Bryan Omondi from KCB together with former Mombasa Elite goalkeeper Abdulrahman Mwinyi.

Others are strikers Francis Kahiro from KCB, Mohammed Barisa and David Sakwa from Nzoia Sugar and Kiminini Combined respectively.

Bandari have also extended the contract of Ugandan import striker Derrick Nsibambi with Rashid Abdallah Super Cup’s Most Valuable Player Hamisi Mwaphalu also inked a deal with the Mombasa based side.

 At the same time, Bandari promoted Izzadin Ramadhan, David Wanyama, Willy Gitama, Hamisi Nyale and Renson Wakalo from their youth system.

Head coach Baraza and his assistant were officially confirmed and handed a two-year contract.

Speaking during the unveiling of the players at Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa, Baraza praised the Dockers office for getting their targets.

“It's a good day for us as Bandari because it's so hard for a team to get a player we want, the demand is too high every team wants them. We have a good team but we still need more quality to fight for the championship.”

Bandari are currently fourth on the league standings with 30 points from 18 matches, 10 points behind leaders Gor Mahia, and the team’s vice chairman Twaha Mbarak believes they can better their results with the new signings.

“We are not done, the window is still open so we have 2 more weeks to see whom we can add to the squad. We have been hit with many injuries that's why we have fought hard to get the top quality players.”

Bandari take Kariobangi Sharks at Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday.
