Bandari FC have bolstered their squad with the signing of two new players as they look to improve their fortunes in the Kenya Premier League.

The Dockers have secured the services of left back Herit Mungai Atariza from Mathare United and Cameroonian midfielder Betrand Ngafei Konfor, who previously featured for Coastal Union of Tanzania.

Mungai brings with him vast experience, having previously turned out for Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers, FC Talanta and Nairobi City Stars.

The midfielder says he is determined to use his experience to help Bandari FC achieve success in the upcoming league fixtures.

“I am happy to be here. Bandari is a big team, and my work is to push myself and be part of the team as we aim to reach a higher level and win at least a trophy,” said Atariza.

Bandari FC are also reportedly keen on re-signing their former goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka, who is currently at Tusker FC, while the club is chasing the signature of Nairobi United striker Frank Ouya, an Ivory Coast-born forward.

Currently sitting tenth on the Kenya Premier League table, Bandari FC are preparing for a tough away encounter against Tusker FC this weekend.

The Dockers head into the match in high spirits following a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz last weekend at Mbaraki Sports Ground.

Assistant head coach Razak Siwa expressed confidence in his squad, saying the team has started the year positively.

“We started the year well with last weekend’s win against Kakamega Homeboyz, and we are focused on replicating that performance in the coming matches, starting with the Tusker game,” said Siwa.

“If you want to be champions, you must win even away matches, and we are psyched to begin with this weekend’s encounter,” he added.

Midfielder Hamisi Mwaphalu echoed the coach’s sentiments, saying the players are highly motivated as they seek to climb up the league standings.

“We are currently placed 10th on the KPL table, and our job is to put the team where it deserves to be. We urge our fans to push us to the limit as we approach the weekend match against Tusker so that we can get maximum points,” said Mwaphalu.

Bandari FC will take on Tusker FC on Saturday at St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a County.
