Bandari out to drown Tusker FC in KPL midweek fixture
Bandari FC are well prepared to down Tusker FC in their mid-week FKF-Premier
League (FKF-PL) fixture, scheduled for Wednesday, Jan 15, 2025 at Kenyatta
Stadium, Machakos.
The Coastal side have been struggling recently, enduring a four-match winless
streak, including suffering a 2-0 defeat to AFC Leopards in their last KPL
outing of 2024.
Head coach Ken Odhiambo believes the December break has provided his team
with an opportunity to reflect and regroup, and for injured players to recover.
“We know the match against Tusker won't be easy, but we’ve prepared well,”
said Odhiambo. “Every player must be brave and sharp. With God’s help, we hope
to get a win,” he added.
Coach Odhiambo mentioned that the break has allowed injured players to
recover.
“Injured players like Onjunga are back in the squad after the break, except
for Edward Satulo, Robert Onyango, and Captain Andrew Juma, who have long-term
injuries. But I’m confident we’ll soon have a full squad,” said Odhiambo.
The Tusker FC match will mark Bandari's
first game of 2025.
With renovations at Mbaraki Stadium now complete, Bandari FC will once again
host their home matches there, a move the coach believes will provide a
significant advantage in their quest for the KPL title this season.
“We’re pleased with the improvements made to our home ground, and I’m sure
the players are excited and ready to play there,” Odhiambo said.
“As a technical bench, we’re looking forward to seeing the playing style
we’ve been working on come to life on a better playing surface.”
Tusker FC, who are tied at the top of the KPL standings with 27 points from
15 matches, will be looking to bounce back after a 2-1 loss to Shabana FC in
their last fixture.
Bandari FC, currently in 7th place with 22 points from 14 matches, will be eager to turn their form around.
