Bandari laugh off ill-treatment claims of the ladies team
Bandari FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Kibwana has refuted claims of mistreatment of their ladies team, Bandari Queens.
Speaking
to Citizen Digital, CEO Kibwana said
that there are no claims tabled to his office, terming the online reports as
false and only rumours.
“We have
done whatever is needed for our team, there are so many rumours going round on
social media, I can only call them rumours since there are no reports tabled to
me of any mistreatment to the girls on lack of food at their club house,” he
explained.

Kibwana said that the team is well taken care of after they acquired the team, formerly
Fortune Ladies.
Bandari
acquired the club last term, as it participated in the last season, in the
regional league, hey have since climbed the ladder to the National Super League.
"Last
week we were in Nairobi and our girls were in one of the best hotels, nearly
four- star, we relocated them from Nguu Tatu Utange area to Kizingo, a
prestigious residence a few meters to their training ground,” he added.
"We
have put plans to give all our girls contracts to have a salary, by December we
will have completed the exercise since some have their contracts already,” Kibwana
added.
According to the online reports, the Mombasa-based team was experiencing meal problems at their club house leading to poor performances.
The Queens
have so far blown hot and in the Women National Super League this
season, winning at home against Gor Mahia ladies, a draw against Sunderland and twin losses against Barcelona SC and Hildana Queens of Taita Taveta.
