BAL Elite 16: Thunder ready to match the continent's best
Nairobi
Thunder star player Tylor Ongwae is confident the team will succeed in the
upcoming Basketball League Africa Elite 16 tournament that will be taking place
between November 28 and December 3 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena and Nyayo
National Gymnasium.
The
tournament promises to bring together an impressive assembly of elite
basketball teams across Africa, showcasing talents from various nations.
“We are
excited ahead of the tournament we are preparing well and we will be good to go
head to head with the best in Africa,” said Ongwae.
City
Thunder, the local representative, will battle alongside formidable teams such
as the City Oilers from Uganda, the NBA Academy, Urunani BBC from Burundi,
M.B.B from South Africa, Bravehearts Basketball from Zambia, Matero Magic from
Malawi, and Fox Basketball Club from South Sudan, and Derrick Ongechi, another
star player in Thunder’s roster, says they are ready to lift the nation's flag
high.
“It a
tournament that will add value to the team and the players because we are
facing the best in Africa we promise to be competitive and make Kenyans proud,”
insisted Ongechi.
With a nation united in anticipation and
enthusiasm, the Road to BAL Elite 16 is poised to unfold as a historic and
exhilarating showcase of extraordinary basketball talent as Thunder's Co-founder
Susan Kimokoti explains. “We have invested heavily in the team and added some
quality players we believe they are going to see the fruits of the hard work,”
stated the co-founder.
