Aussems says Leopards must adapt to succeed
AFC Leopards Belgian head coach, Patrick Aussems says his
side needs to be more flexible if they are to stand a chance of producing
consistent good results.
Speaking after his side beat Nairobi City Stars 1-0 courtesy of
a goal by new signing and Kenyan International Cliff Nyakeya, Aussems felt
there was no need to stubbornly stick to a certain way of playing in order to
be more consistent.
"We made the same mistakes we made a few weeks ago by
dropping too much and allowing them to use those long balls," he said.
“Against a side like City Stars that are playing long balls and
fight resiliently, it is always a problem," he added.
"Football is not like that anymore but we have to adapt.
The best thing is that we took all three points and took a clean sheet.
"We also have injuries and this is not a very large group.
We must adapt we have to play 7 games in the space of 24-25 days so we need to
manage that."
Leopards are currently eighth in the league on eight points
after six matches.
