Africa Nazarene University (ANU Wolfpacks) head coach Michael Oluoch acknowledges that his team still has areas to improve despite securing a crucial victory over the weekend.

The Wolfpacks edged out Equity Dumas 68-62 in a Kenya National Basketball League men's premier division match at Ulinzi Sports Complex last Sunday.

Following this win, ANU now has seven points from five matches, with two wins and three losses.

“The boys fought hard, although we made some mistakes that we need to address and refine in training this week as we prepare for our next game,” said Oluoch.

“I’m proud of the effort and determination they showed, which played a key role in our victory. We’ll keep working on our weaknesses as we move forward.”

Meanwhile, Ulinzi Warriors head coach Bernard Mufutu remains optimistic about his team’s continued improvement, especially after their commanding win over Equity Dumas.

The Warriors defeated the Bankers 72-51 in another men’s premier league encounter, boosting their confidence.

“The boys are highly motivated after the win, and they played with great intensity on both ends of the floor, which was encouraging,” Mufutu said.

“They followed instructions well for most of the game, and our free throw shooting has improved. However, our field goal and three-point shooting percentages are not where we want them to be. We will continue refining these aspects to achieve better results in upcoming matches.”

Ulinzi has played six matches so far, winning three and losing three, giving them a total of nine points.
